Yeah but also for his Glory Baby. The chief end of man is to worship God and enjoy him for ever. We are designed to worship him yet through our own sin we don't. Therefore because of this in our natural state we all deserve to go to Hell, but God, out of his good pleasure, chose to save some via a redeemer and that redeemer is Christ. There is only one way to a perfect body and a perfect soul and that is via Christ.

I think we may have straed off topic here, the Pros and Cons of christianity have limited relevence to Wicca. Any way, the internet being the wonderful resoruce it is I've found a bunch of information.

No, god does not allow bad stuff to happen to those who have done nothing wrong, that is wrong, and its difficult to explain...he doesnt allow stuff to happen intentionally either. You know that there are two forms of disasters, natural and err...cant remember the name of the other off the top of my head :S well, God doesnt control the natural ones like flooding and earthquakes..
You know the story of Satan, being an angel corrupted, well he is also in fault for making evil in the world...evil HAS to exist, without it the world would be nothing, humans would have no freedom or free will to make desicions, temptaion would not exist...

Wait, the god who caused the biblical flood that noah sailed on doesn't conrtol floods and earthquakes? and wasn't one of the miricles that jesus prefomed stopping a rageing storm so the boat he was in could travel safely?

Claire hugs and prayers dear.

God allows bad stuff to happen for his glory. Since Adam sinned and was our first 'parent' we all sinned with him because if Adam was the origin of us then we were part of him when he sinned. That is why God allows so called innocent people to have evil on them and go to Hell. Because when Adam sinned he sinned on behalf of the whole human race (genes and stuff?).

But he has also made a way of escape by a redeemer. Christ.

and for the record I believe God control the earthquakes too. So I believe that things like natural disasters are judgements (in the main though not always) on nations for doing evil in the sight of God.

oh thats a pretty good explanation. isnt all the bad stuff we go through punishment for adam and eve eating the apple and ruining eden? because i think they said childbirth is part of eve's punishment and having to work the land is adam's punishment? xxxxxx

Yeah that's in the bible scatty cat. But digressing a little if you can get hold of calvin's commentaries (try http://www.ccel.org or .com I cannae mind) John Calvin (great reformer) reckoned that the pains of childbirth were to be endured willingly for they are sanctifying or something (from 1 Tim 1:2 I think). Now that may have been all very well and good in the 17th Century or whenever but I have seen women on Discovery Health lose their minds in childbirth by going au naturale so therefore I'm more of the view of all things in moderation when it comes to pain relief in childbirth.

Anyone any other views? Pain medicine or not in childbirth?
